This Privacy Policy explains how Blueprint AI Strategy LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), operator of TheScentStyler (the "Service"), collects, uses, and shares information about you. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
TheScentStyler is a fragrance memoir application that lets you catalog your collection, journal your daily wear, and receive AI-generated recommendations and written summaries. For privacy questions, contact us at thescentstyler@blueprintaistrategy.com.
2. A note on our local-first design
TheScentStyler is built to be local-first. If you use the Service without creating an account, your collection, journal entries, and related data are stored only in your own browser (using your device's local storage) and are not transmitted to us or to any third party. We cannot see this data, and it stays on your device until you choose to sign in and sync, or until you clear it from your browser.
This changes once you create an account and sync, or use AI features. The sections below describe what happens then.
3. Information we collect
Information you provide locally (anonymous use). Your fragrance collection, daily logs, journal text, and tags. As described above, this stays on your device unless you sign in and sync.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect the email address you use for sign-in. We use passwordless "magic link" authentication, so we do not store a password.
Synced content. If you sign in, the collection and journal data you choose to sync is stored on our servers (see Section 5) and associated with your account.
Subscription and payment information. If you subscribe to a paid tier, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We do not receive or store your full card number. We store your subscription tier, status, and the identifiers Stripe assigns (customer and subscription IDs).
AI feature inputs. When you use AI features (recommendations, written summaries, note imagery, and similar), the relevant content — which may include your fragrance data and journal text — is sent to third-party AI providers to generate a response (see Section 5).
Technical and diagnostic information. We use an error-monitoring service to detect and fix problems. Error reports are associated with an anonymized account identifier only — we have configured this service not to attach your email address or IP address to error events. We also apply rate limiting keyed to a client identifier to protect the Service from abuse.
No analytics or advertising. We do not use product-analytics or advertising tools, and we do not track you across other websites or apps.
4. How we use information
We use the information above to: operate and maintain the Service; authenticate you; sync and display your collection and journal; generate AI recommendations, summaries, and imagery at your request; process subscriptions and payments; monitor and fix errors; and protect the Service from abuse. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Third-party service providers (sub-processors)
We rely on the following providers to operate the Service. Each receives only the data needed for its function:

About AI processing. The AI features send your content to the providers above to produce a result. We instruct these providers to process the content to deliver the feature; review each provider's terms for how they handle data submitted via their API.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in (authentication session cookies). Our payment processor may set cookies during checkout. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
7. Data retention and deletion
Local (anonymous) data remains on your device until you clear your browser storage or device data; you control it entirely.
Account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing thescentstyler@blueprintaistrategy.com. On deletion, we remove your account, your synced collection and journal data, your profile, and any exported documents we hold on your behalf.
Please note that our payment processor (Stripe) may retain transaction and billing records — such as invoices and payment history — as required by law, including for tax and financial-reporting purposes, independent of your account deletion.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
- EU / UK (GDPR): you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): you have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sharing" or "sale" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information.
To exercise any of these, email thescentstyler@blueprintaistrategy.com. We will respond as required by applicable law.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to individuals under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International users
We and our providers operate primarily in the United States. If you access the Service from the EU, UK, or elsewhere outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you of material changes.
